Process

Six stages, no mystery

Publishing goes wrong when nobody tells the author what happens next. Here is exactly what happens next, at every point.

  1. 01

    You send the manuscript

    Day 0

A Word file, a Google Doc, or three chapters and an outline. We read every submission ourselves — no automated triage, no sales script.

Your part: Send your draft and tell us where you'd like it to end up.

  2. 02

    We read it and quote

    Within 3 working days

You receive a written assessment: what the book needs, what it doesn't, and an itemised quote. If a cheaper route serves you better, we say so.

Your part: Approve the quote, or ask us to rework it.

  3. 03

    Editorial pass

    2–3 weeks

Copy-editing and proofreading in tracked changes, with a style sheet built for your series. Nothing is changed silently.

Your part: Accept or reject each change. It stays your voice.

  4. 04

    Design & typesetting

    2–3 weeks

Three cover directions, then interior setting: measure, leading, chapter openers, front and back matter. Files built for print and digital in parallel.

Your part: Choose a cover direction and review two revision rounds.

  5. 05

    Proof & approval

    1 week

A printed proof is posted to you. You read it in the format your readers will. Nothing goes live before you sign it off in writing.

Your part: Read the proof, mark anything up, approve.

  6. 06

    Publication & launch

    Launch week onward

Retail listings go live, distribution channels activate, legal deposit is filed, and — on marketing packages — the twelve-week campaign begins.

Your part: Sign books, talk to readers, start the next one.

That's the whole process.
