Refunds & cancellations
Last updated 1 July 2026. What you can cancel, when, and exactly what it costs if work has already started.
Fourteen-day cooling-off period
Orders placed on this site may be cancelled in full for any reason within fourteen days of purchase, provided we have not yet begun work at your request. Email accounts@quillandmark.co.uk with your order number and the refund is issued to the original payment method within five working days.
Once production has started
If you ask us to begin sooner than fourteen days, you keep the right to cancel but we may retain a proportionate amount for work already completed. We invoice at the published stage rates and refund the balance — never a flat 'administration fee'.
Editorial and design work
Proofreading, copy-editing, cover and interior design are refundable up to the point the first draft or proof is delivered to you. After delivery the fee for that stage is payable in full, because the work exists and is yours to keep.
Print runs and physical stock
Print is manufactured to order and cannot be cancelled once it has gone to press. If stock arrives damaged, misbound or materially different from the approved proof, we replace the affected copies at our cost — tell us within thirty days of delivery.
Distribution and marketing
Distribution setup fees are refundable until your title is submitted to the retail catalogues. Advertising spend already placed with a third-party platform cannot be recovered, but any unspent balance is returned.
Package purchases
Where a discounted package is cancelled part-way, completed stages are charged at their individual à la carte prices and the remainder refunded. We will always show you the arithmetic before taking anything.

Email accounts@quillandmark.co.uk or write to Quill & Mark Publishing Ltd, 12 Cathedral Road, Cardiff CF11 9LJ. We acknowledge within one working day and settle within five. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
